Wizkid and Tems Shine as Only African Acts on Apple Music’s All-Time Top 500 List

Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Tems have achieved a major international milestone, earning spots on Apple Music’s Top 500 Most Streamed Songs of All Time—the only African artists to make the prestigious global list.

Unveiled as part of Apple Music’s 10th anniversary celebration, the list highlights the most-played tracks across the platform’s history. Wizkid’s global hit One Dance—a 2016 collaboration with Drake and Kyla—soared to Number 6 on the list, making him the sole African artist in the top 10.

Meanwhile, Tems secured her spot through Wait For U, the Grammy-winning track by Future featuring Drake and Tems, which ranked at Number 42.

This recognition further cements the duo’s influence in pushing Afrobeats onto the global stage and showcases the genre’s growing reach in international markets.

Topping the all-time list is Ed Sheeran’s chart-dominating Shape of You, followed by Blinding Lights by The Weeknd and Drake’s God’s Plan. Post Malone appears twice in the top 5 with Sunflower and Rockstar, while other top 10 entries include Travis Scott’s Sicko Mode, Ed Sheeran’s Perfect, Chris Brown’s No Guidance, and Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy.

With this achievement, Wizkid and Tems continue to break barriers, marking a proud moment not just for Nigerian music, but for African artistry on the global stage.
