Fuel Is 1,470, Diesel Is Over 2k Per Litre, Some APC Officials & Opposition Leaders Say Fuel Shouldn’t Be Subsidised- Okonkwo
Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council, has criticised the high cost of petroleum products in Nigeria, arguing that current fuel and diesel prices are unaffordable and unsustainable for citizens.
Okonkwo, in a statement shared on social media, said petrol was selling at about N1,470 per litre while diesel had risen above N2,000 per litre.
He also faulted some officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government and opposition leaders for arguing against subsidising fuel for Nigerians.
“Fuel is N1,470 per litre. Diesel is more than N2,000 per litre. And some wicked and corrupt government officials of APC and even some opposition leaders are saying fuel should not be subsidised for Nigerians,” Okonkwo said.
According to him, the prevailing prices had placed an unsustainable burden on Nigerians and required urgent intervention.
