Seeing lightning hit an aeroplane can look frightening, especially when the aircraft is high above the ground. However, commercial aeroplanes are designed to handle lightning strikes safely. In fact, lightning strikes on aircraft are not as unusual as many passengers might think.

When lightning strikes an aeroplane, the electrical current usually travels along the outside surface of the aircraft.

It enters at one point, moves across the aircraft’s outer skin, and leaves through another point. This allows the current to pass around the passenger cabin instead of travelling directly through it.

Most modern aeroplanes use materials and designs that help control the movement of electrical current. Aircraft manufacturers also install protective systems to reduce the risk of electrical damage and interference with important equipment.

The aircraft’s fuel system is another major safety consideration. Fuel tanks and other components are carefully designed to reduce the possibility of sparks reaching fuel vapors.…Keep reading the full & the viral video now.
