Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bamanga Tukur, has died at the age of 90. According to a family statement signed by his son, Awwal D. Tukur, he died on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Tukur was born on September 15, 1935, and would have turned 91 three days after his death.
He was a former governor of old Gongola State, Minister of Industries, and served as PDP National Chairman from 2012 to 2014 during President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
