The United Kingdom has awarded scholarships to 68 Nigerians under the Chevening and Commonwealth scholarship programmes to pursue master’s and PhD programmes in 2026. Of the total, 12 received Chevening awards while 56 received Commonwealth scholarships.
Speaking at pre-departure ceremonies in Abuja and Lagos, British High Commission Chargée d’Affaires Vicky Seymour described the awards as an investment in both individuals and Nigeria’s future, urging scholars to return home and apply their skills to national development.
