According to a report by Punch Newspapers on Monday, September 29, 2025, the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a security guard, Amos Kini, accused of abducting a two-year-old boy in the Elemoro area of the state.
Police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed in a statement on Monday that the child’s mother reported the case at the Elemoro Division on September 21, 2025.
According to the report, Kini fled with the boy and the woman’s mobile phone late at night without her consent.
Adebisi said, “The suspect later used the stolen phone to contact the child’s father, demanding a ransom of five million naira (₦5,000,000.00) for his release.”
The police added that one Aruna Dauda, who had served as guarantor for Kini’s employment, was also taken in for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
The command assured that efforts are ongoing to recover the child safely and bring all culprits to justice.
