Popular social critic, Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has fired back at nightlife entrepreneur and socialite, Obi Cubana, following Cubana’s remarks on an ongoing issue.
In a fiery response, VDM dismissed Obi Cubana’s relevance, stating:
“Go and sit your a$$ down, I don’t know you from anywhere.
They never hear your voice for any important issue, na to dey carry money dey spray up and down. Youths dey find job, you dey bring alcohol.
I don’t worship you or your money. Do you pay my bills? Do the blogs pay my bills? If you put your mouth for this matter, you go collect.”
The statement, credited to VDM via Yabaleft, has stirred conversations on social media, with many Nigerians divided over the confrontation.
While some argue that VDM is speaking truth to power, especially concerning youth unemployment and the flaunting of wealth, others believe his choice of words towards Obi Cubana was unnecessarily harsh.
This latest exchange adds to VDM’s growing reputation as a vocal critic of Nigerian celebrities and public figures who, in his view, do not use their platforms to address pressing societal challenges.
