JUST IN: Benue youths welcome Gov Alia to yam festival with wheelbarrows

Hundreds of youths in Gboko local government area of Benue State on Monday welcomed Governor Hyacinth Alia to the New Yam festival in the area with a convoy of wheelbarrows and motorcycles.

The governor was on his way to the Ior-Ijemgbagh community to participate in this year’s festival, and to his embarrassment, he was welcomed by the youths who rolled out hundreds of wheelbarrows to make a convoy.

The reception may not be unconnected with Alia’s recent decision to give some rural women wheelbarrows as empowerment tools.
