Nigerian Army Personnel Accused Of Defrauding Colleagues, Absconding with Millions Of Naira

ANigerian soldier identified as Lance Corporal Usman Umar Ka’oje, with service number 15NA/74/3376 attached to 133 SF Battalion, Azare, Bauchi State, has been accused of defrauding his colleagues of money worth millions of naira for business transaction.

Some of the affected soldiers who sent an SoS to SaharaReporters on Tuesday, lamented that Umar after collecting their money absconded since July 7, 2025, putting them in serious financial difficulties, as they gave him all their savings.

The soldiers, who did not want their names to be mentioned, asked Nigerians to report the Lance Corporal at any nearby police or hand him over to the military authorities.

Titled: “AWOL Soldier”, the SOS partly read: “15NA/74/3376 Lcpl Usman Umar Ka’oje, serving in 133 SF BN Azare Bauchi state, the soldier absconded the unit since July 7th 2025 with his colleagues money worth millions of naira, for business transaction.

“Anyone with useful information or whereabout of the soldier should contact the nearest military formation. If seen anywhere, he should be apprehended and handed over to military authority.”

SaharaReporters could not immediately ascertain the nature of the business transaction.
